In January 2022, the ONA Student Newsroom lost a long time friend and beloved mentor. In honoring Curt Chandler’s legacy we reached out to NPPA colleagues as well as previous students of the ONA Newsroom to share stories of his impact.

Carolyn Burt

Carolyn Burt is a journalism major from California State University, Northridge. Most recently Burt was an audience engagement intern for the Los Angeles Times. While at CSUN she worked on the university’s newspaper, the Daily Sundial, as the publication’s managing editor. Previously, Burt was the editor-in-chief for the Corsair, Santa Monica College’s award-winning student publication.
