No trip to New Orleans is complete without experiencing a live jazz performance. We found a great spot Wednesday night at the New Orleans Jazz Market, where vibrant sounds of local jazz filled the venue in the Lower Garden District. Since 2016, the popular open mic event has worked to provide a community for small businesses, musicians, poets and comedians to showcase their talents. The young attendees also sold New Orleans clothing, Cajun food and novelty items.

Later this weekend, we’ll share a list of the top jazz joints in New Orleans.
