Want to challenge Denver’s Pokémon players while soaking up local attractions during ONA16?
With Pokémon Gyms and PokéStops littering the city and dedicated locals partnering with business and vendors to organize epic trainer meet ups and city crawls, Denver is an active Pokèmon Go hub.
Follow this guide to see some of Denver’s historic landmarks and favorite haunts that double as Pokémon Gyms and PokèStops, all within a 2.5-mile radius of the convention hotel. You can select sites based on four categories: art, historic attractions, literary landmarks, and food and drinks.
At gyms, you can test your Pokèmon’s battle skills against another trainer’s Pokèmon, but you must be level 5 and have joined a team (Valor, Mystic or Instinct). PokèStops are places where you can collect in-game items such as like PokèBalls and Potions for your journey (although you can’t collect the latter until you reach level 5).

If you are interested in playing Pokémon Go for the first time, you can download a free app from your iPhone or Android-based smart phones. Learn more about the game here.
For those who want venture farther out, you can use the Pokèmon Go Map to find even more PokéStops and gyms. The map is not affiliated with Niantic or Nintendo, but was instead created by CyanSub, a Scotland-based design and coding team of two. Signed-in users can mark and vote on locations designated by others to verify the existence of a PokèStop or a gym.
If players are looking for local playing tips, want to connect with local trainers or want to find the latest Pokémon nests and spawn points, visit the Poké Go Denver Group Facebook page (the group is public).
